Minutes of the NZIP AGM.

Minutes of the AGM:

The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed.

Matters arising from the last AGM meeting:

None

Presidents Report:

The Presidents report was accepted.

Treasurers Report:

The Treasurer presented the audited accounts for the NZIP, Education Section and the Education Subcommittee.

Branch Reports:

Otago: 400 people attended the mini lectures on the physics of motorcars. AGM held and planning to hold an Electronics Weekend. $100 requested from the NZIP for this, $200 for the Science Quiz and $200 for the Science Fair.

Wellington: Wellington Branch in conjunction with the RSNZ Wellington Branch have held Physics talks approximately monthly. Some money was given for a prize to the Wellington Science Fair.

No other branch reports were received.

Fees:

The following motion regarding the fees for 2002 was put:

"Council recommends that fees for all classes of membership be left unchanged from the previous year.."

It was noted that the current fees are : Members $60, Fellows $75, Associate Members, Students and Retired members $25

and Company Subscription $225.

Resolution to appoint the RSNZ to act as the Payment Agency of the NZIP.

"Council recommend that the Royal Society of New Zealand should be appointed to act as the payment agency for the NZIP".

The AGM confirmed the Council resolution subject to satisfactory arrangements being made with the RSNZ.

To acknowledge with thanks, the huge progress made in the last three years.
